Youth Leadership Conference Day 3-April 1, 2011

Rise and shine at 7:00 a.m. Time for a breakfast buffet before our team has to give it’s annual report at our Cooperative’s Annual Meeting. The winning cooperative was GEC! After our annual meetings. Joe Langlois, the Safety Coordinator, and Addie Armato, the Member Services Representative at Pointe Coupee Electric gave an electrical safety demonstration. We closed out the day with Mrs. Sandy giving us an overview about our trip to Washington D.C. and deciding on what t-shirt design we liked best for our Rally Day t-shirt. A lot will be expected of us because we are representing the state of Louisiana, but the trip promises to be very exciting and an adventure that we will remember for a life time. Sadly we all had to depart to return home, but we departed with the promises of seeing each other again soon in June! I’m sure many of us will keep in touch through email, social networking websites and phone calls.

Here’s what today’s bloggers had to say:

Kayla Mims is NRG’s delegate:
Her favorite part of the day was the electrical presentation. She thought it was very insightful and interesting. Breakfast was very good also!!
Her least favorite part of the day was having to leave everyone.
Today’s activities taught Kayla not to get out of a car if a power line falls on it because I will fry. I learned also learned that electricity is very interesting.
Kayla would like to say to her loved ones back home that I love them, miss them, and I’m coming home!
Kayla also said she loves Mrs. Sandy, Ms. Addie and all the other chaperones. You all really inspire me!

Lauren Mauer is WST’s delegate:
Her favorite part of the day was the man from Pointe Coupee Electric was very humorous. I greatly enjoyed the demonstration he gave about the dangers of electricity.
Her least favorite part of the day was staying awake during the presentation. My roommates and I stayed up late bonding and as a result were very sleepy.
Today’s activities taught Lauren electrical safety. In the future I will be more careful around electricity.
Lauren would like to say to her loved ones back home that I miss you but I don’t miss you. Thanks for sending me!
